Carne en su jugo recipe

We tried different recipes for this dish, however we found the following to be the best (for our own taste) and it also tastes closer to the one sold in commercial restaurants in the city.

Carne en su jugo dish

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp of chicken broth (Knorr suiza)
  • 750g Steak thin sliced (cut in small pieces, around 1x1")
  • 500g Small green tomatoes
  • 1 small bundle of cilantro
  • 2 Garlic clove
  • 250g White onion
  • 250g Bacon
  • 1 bundle of Cambray onions
  • 7-8 tiny potatoes
  • Table salt
  • Pepper
  • (Optional) Lemon juice
  • (Optional) Chopped cilantro and onion

Procedure

Boil the tiny potatoes and the green tomatoes together in a pot. In another pot, boil water (around half the size of the pot) and add the chicken broth. Once the green tomatoes are cooked, blend with the cilantro, garlic, the onion. Add the mix to the boiling water with the chicken broth.

In a pan, fry the bacon. Once fried, add the chopped steak, add table salt and pepper as per your criteria. Once the steak is cooked, add the water mix of the pot. Lastly, add the cooked potatoes and the Cambray onions. Let it boil until all is cooked.

Once served, you can add lemon juice if you will, as well as the chopped cilantro and onion.
